Singer and style star Ejae took to the runway this evening at Vogue World: Milano wearing an archival Roberto Capucci gown. The blue-and-black tiered dress showcased the Italian designer's renowned craftsmanship.
Capucci, born in Rome in 1930, began his career with training as a sculptor and opened his first clothing atelier before turning 20. Following World War II, he emerged as one of the leading fashion designers of his era alongside Valentino Garavani and Emilio Pucci, helping to launch an opulent period in Italian design. His work became known for exuberant color combinations and sculptural silhouettes. According to a 1989 Vogue report by Joan Juliet Buck, Italian model Mirella Petteni kept her two Capucci dresses in separate closets in her Venetian home.
Ejae appeared in the show's opening chapter, Act I: The Artisanal Revolution, which highlighted ornate embroidery and handmade Italian artistry. Juan Costa, creative director of Vogue World: Milan, explained the theme to Vogue ahead of the event: "The first act is the artisanal revolution, which has to do with everything that comes before electricity and before industrialization. It was the time of kings, queens, and popes, and through that, we're seeing fashion that's handcrafted."
